On November 3, 2020, NHTSA issued a final rule amending 49 CFR Part 572 to add design and performance specifications for the Q3 test dummy. The Q3 dummy is used to assess the performance of child restraint systems in protecting small children in side impacts. The rule will take effect Jan. 4, 2021.
