On February 18, 2009, EPA issued updated guidance on certifying HD diesel engines equipped with SCR. This latest guidance letter from EPA supplements previously-issued guidance in March of 2007. EPA's new guidance addresses the following issues:
• Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Tank Size
• Driver Warning Indicators
• Driver Inducement
• Identification of Incorrect Reducing Agent
• Tamper Resistant Design
• Freeze Protection
