On February 4 and 5, 2009, the ARB will hold workshops in Sacramento and Fresno, respectively, to discuss development of the Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) pursuant to AB 118, the California Alternative and Renewable Fuel, Vehicle Technology, Clean Air, and Carbon Reduction Act of 2007. AB 118 provides about $50 million annually through 2015 for the AQIP to fund a variety of air quality incentive projects, including low-emission vehicles and equipment projects, air quality research, and advanced energy technology workforce training. At the February 4-5, 2009 workshop, ARB staff will discuss updated draft AQIP Guideline language and FY 2009-10 Funding Plan potential source categories, funding targets, and program parameters. Staff intends to release the Proposed AQIP Guidelines and Proposed FY 2009-10 Funding Plan in March for public comment prior to Board consideration at the April 23, 2009 Board meeting.
