On September 22, 2008, NHTSA published a notice in the Federal Register at 73 FR 54526 that responds to several petitions for reconsideration filed in response to the April 6, 2007 final rule which established requirements for ESC systems (FMVSS 126).
The rule is effective Oct. 22, 2008. Petitions for reconsideration of this rule must be submitted no later than November 6, 2008.
