Alternatively Fueled Vehicles
On June 10, 2008, Representative Tancredo (R-CO) introduced legislation, the Fuel Freedom Act of 2008 (HR. 6231). As written, the legislation would require that all vehicles manufactured after the 2018 model year be alternative fuel vehicles. Penalties for noncompliance are $10,000/vehicle. The bill was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce.
