Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Test Procedure Workshop

On February 27, 2008, CARB announced that it will hold a public workshop on April 8, 2008, in El Monte, CA to discuss proposed amendments to the HEV Test Procedure. The proposed changes are necessary due to two main developments: 1) new vehicle technologies which cannot be adequately tested with the current test procedures, and 2) the proposed amendments to the ZEV regulations, which will be heard by the Board at the March 27, 2008 Board Hearing. According to the notice issued by CARB, ARB staff is preparing a draft test procedure that addresses these issues. At the workshop, staff will present a strawman proposal on areas that need clarification and modification. The draft test procedure and a workshop agenda will be made available via the ZEV Program Internet website: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/zevprog/zevprog.htm in the week prior to the workshop.
